On certain vehicles, one or more of the rear axle bearing bolts may not have been properly tightened during assembly. This could cause the bolt(s) to become loose and eventually detach, which could damage the rear brakes or could cause the rear wheel(s) to detach. This may result in a reduction in brake performance and a loss of vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the rear axle hub bearing bolts. If a bolt is found to be loose or detached, the dealer will replace the rear axle hub bearing assembly and rear axle carrier sub-assembly.

On certain trucks, a connection on the battery positive terminal could come loose. This can result in a loss of instrument panel displays, braking or steering assist, or cause the engine to stall. This issue could also create a high-resistance connection.
Safety Risk
A loss of engine power and/or a loss of power to electrical systems could increase the risk of a crash. A high-resistance connection could create a fire risk.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to inspect the connection of the positive battery cable. It will be cleaned and tightened as necessary.

ON CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH SIX CYLINDER ENGINES AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH FOUR OR SIX CYLINDER ENGINES, THE FUEL PUMP TERMINAL ON THE FUEL-SENDING UNIT CAN DEVELOP A CRACK IN THE PLASTIC MOLDING. THIS CAN CAUSE THE TERMINAL STRIP TO CORRODE UNDER SOME ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS.
Safety Risk
IF CORROSION OCCURS, THE TERMINAL STRIP COULD EVENTUALLY BREAK CAUSING THE FUEL PUMP TO STOP OPERATION. THIS WILL RESULT IN NOT BEING ABLE TO START THE ENGINE OR CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STOP RUNNING WITHOUT WARNING, WHICH CAN RESULT IN A CRASH.
Remedy
IN THE FOLLOWING STATES, DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL-SENDING UNIT. THESE STATES ARE CONNECTICUT, DELAWARE, ILLINOIS, INDIANA, IOWA, KENTUCKY, MAINE, MARYLAND, MASSACHUSETTS, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA, RHODE ISLAND, TENNESSEE, VERMONT, VIRGINIA, WEST VIRGINIA, WISCONSIN, AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. IN THE OTHER STATES, THE DEALER WILL INSPECT THE FUEL PUMP TERMINAL ON THE SENDING UNIT FOR CORROSION. IF CORROSION IS PRESENT, THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE UNIT. IF THERE IS NOT CORROSION, THE DEALER WILL APPLY SEALANT TO THE TERMINAL HOUSING TO HELP PREVENT CORROSION IN THE FUTURE. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON JUNE 28, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.
VEHICLES EQUIPPED FOR POLICE SERVICE. SOME VEHICLES WERE PRODUCED WITH FRAMES THAT MAY HAVE INADEQUATELY WELDED NO. 2 CROSSMEMBER ASSEMBLIES. CRACKS COULD INITIATE AT MISSING WELDS AND PROPOGATE TO ONE OF THE WELDED-ON FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ATTACHING GUSSETS. THE CRACKING MAY EXTEND AROUND THE GUSSET ALLOWING THE GUSSET AND THE FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM TO DISENGAGE FROM THE FRAME. THIS CONDITION WOULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL.

Toyota is recalling certain model year 2004-2009 Prius vehicles manufactured August 6, 2003, through March 30, 2009 and FCHV-adv vehicles manufactured December 12, 2008, through September 13, 2011. During manufacturing, a scratch may have occurred inside of the electrically driven water pump at the coil wire. The coil wire may corrode at the scratched portion.
Safety Risk
The corroded coil wire may break and the water pump could stop. The corroded coil wire could cause a short circuit between coil wires and a possible open fuse, creating a stall-like condition of the hybrid system while the vehicle is being driven. This may increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
Remedy
Toyota will notify its owners, and dealers will replace the electric water pump, free of charge. The recall began on January 17, 2013. Owners may contact their Toyota dealer or the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331.

Tire failure could cause the driver to lose vehicle control, which may result in a crash. Also, during tire failure, rapid deterioration can produce debris. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Retailers will replace affected tires.

On certain vehicles, the right front brake line attachment to the ABS hydraulic control unit (HCU) may separate from the HCU. This may be due to an incorrect seat angle on the flare nut that is part of the brake line assembly. If this occurs, it could result in a loss of brake pressure to the front wheels and increased stopping distances which could in turn result in a vehicle crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
The flare nut on the brake line will be replaced with the correct nut.
