On certain vehicles with Electro-Hydraulic Power Assist Steering (EHPAS), rust had formed inside the high-pressure pipe on the power steering system during manufacturing due to improper processing. Rust particles may detach from the pipe walls and enter the motorized power steering pump, causing damage to the pump bearings. As a result, gear lubrication may be reduced, leading to an increased load on the motor. Should this happen, there is the potential for the power steering system to enter the fail safe mode in order to prevent overheating, resulting in the power steering warning lamp to light and the motorized pump to stop which could lead to a loss of power assist and the required steering effort will increase.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will flush the power steering system and repair as necessary.

On certain vehicles, a mounting stud used to secure the airbag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) to the vehicle may have been incorrectly positioned during the assembly process. This could stress the SDM housing and cause it to fracture which could potentially allow water to enter the SDM and cause it to malfunction. If the SDM does not perform as intended, it could increase the risk of occupant injury in the event of a crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will send the affected vehicles to a repair facility which will relocate the mounting stud and replace the SDM.

Safety Risk
A seat that doesn't stop moving could increase the risk of injury.
Remedy
To reduce the safety risk, Hyundai advises you to ensure the seats are empty before using any power folding function and not to use the one-touch tilt-and-slide (walk-in) feature when entering or exiting the third-row seats. Hyundai will notify owners in writing. As an interim repair, Hyundai is developing and plans to send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the power seat control software.
