These pits may allow cracks to develop, which can result in the breakage of the lower spring coil. If the front coil spring breaks, it may become displaced from its seated position and cause damage to a tire which in turn could result in loss of vehicle control.

The software allows the PCM to detect a Canister Purge Valve (CPV) that is not working properly. A CPV that is not working properly could cause a malfunction indicator light (MIL) to turn on in the instrument cluster, erratic readings on the fuel gauge, and/or the engine may stall.
Note: Owners are advised to keep their fuel level above half-full until the recall repairs are completed.
